Olympian and Nutritionist Milly Clark from Healthfix has joined us to share her favourite healthy smoothies! Give them a go next time you’re looking for a refreshing body booster.

BEAUTY SMOOTHIE

Glowing skin, hair and nails are a reflection of what you put into your body. Feeding your skin with antioxidants, healthy fats and protein will make you look and feel radiant. This smoothie is high in hydrating, restorative minerals and antioxidants that are easily absorbed by your cells to give your skin the goodness it needs to glow!

Ingredients:

• 1 ½ cups of coconut water

• 1 cup of frozen blueberries

• ½ cup of strawberries

• 2 leaves of Cos lettuce OR 1 cup of baby spinach

• 1 tablespoon of Greek yoghurt

• 1 teaspoon of chia seeds or LSA OR walnuts

• 1 tablespoon of protein powder OR extra yoghurt

CHOCOLATE LOVERS

Good news! Cacao is the highest known antioxidant food on earth. It is rich in magnesium, iron, copper and B-vitamins – these are all important for maintaining energy levels and balancing hormones. This smoothie is a great way to satisfy that chocolate craving and nourish your immune system.

Ingredients:

• 1 small banana (can be frozen)

• ¼ avocado

• ¾ cup of water + Handful of ice to blend

• ¾ cup of almond or coconut milk

• 2 tablespoons of protein powder OR Greek Yoghurt

• 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder

• Drizzle of honey and a pinch of salt

ULTIMATE RECOVERY SMOOTHIE

After a hard workout or training session, you need to replace fluids, electrolytes and energy. Grapes are low GI and rich in potassium, an electrolyte you lose when sweating. Potassium and sodium work together to maintain fluid levels in your body, which help regulate your heartbeat and circulation. This power packed smoothie is loaded with electrolytes, antioxidants and minerals all needed for optimal recovery.

Ingredients:

• 1 cup of green grapes

• 1 orange

• 2 cups of ice

• 1 piece of fresh ginger

• 2 tablespoons of protein powder OR Greek yoghurt

• 1 cup of coconut water

• Squeeze of Lime of Lemon juice
